As part of the celebration of Honduras’ Independence Day, the upper levels of our institution commemorate this important patriotic date by marching proudly and enthusiastically through the streets. However, in preschool, where learning is experienced through play, body expression, and creativity, the commemoration takes the form of a colorful and emotional civic ceremony that leaves a lasting mark on the hearts of our little ones.

This year, our classrooms were filled with excitement, music, and patriotism as the preschool boys and girls participated in a civic event specially designed for them. Although they are not yet part of the official parades, the youngest students showed their love for Honduras through artistic expressions that reflect the spirit of our culture and traditions.
During the ceremony, there were moments full of joy and tenderness:
- Traditional dances: Dressed in folkloric outfits and with bright smiles, the children danced to the rhythm of Honduran songs. It was heartwarming to see how, in their own way, they paid tribute to our roots.
- Dramatizations: The little ones portrayed historical moments and everyday scenes from life in Honduras, showing their understanding through symbolic play of the values of freedom, identity, and unity.
- Poems and “bombas”: Many confidently recited patriotic verses and “bombas” (short, witty rhymes), learning from an early age how to express pride in their country with powerful and heartfelt words.

To make this day even more meaningful, parents were invited to witness the civic act and celebrate alongside their children. It was a very special moment, strengthening the bond between home and school, and full of shared smiles, applause, and emotions.
At the end of the artistic program, each group returned to their classroom to continue the celebration. There, students, teachers, and parents enjoyed a delicious tasting of traditional Honduran foods, lovingly prepared for the occasion. Dishes such as baleadas, tamalitos, enchiladas, and pastelitos were part of this joyful gathering full of national flavor.

These types of activities not only help children develop skills in expression and coordination but also plant in them the seeds of love and respect for their country. From an early age, it is essential to teach them that being Honduran is a source of pride, and that our history and culture deserve to be remembered and celebrated.
The preschool civic ceremony was, without a doubt, a beautiful way to honor independence, adapted to the abilities and needs of our youngest students. We thank the teachers, parents, and everyone who made this activity possible and above all, our little great patriots!
